Senior community staff acknowledged on National Assisted Living Week

Senior community staff acknowledged on National Assisted Living Week

It was Thursday afternoon about 2:45 pm and the staff in the entire community were called to Clark Meadows for another presentation.  Standing socially distanced along with many residents, the following was presented by Jody Wilbur, Lifestyle Coordinator.

"During these trying times over the past 6 months, the team....our staff, has been outstanding.  Keeping all of us out of harms way with safety precautions, sanitizers, masks, locked doors, etc.  They have shown us kindness, patience, humor and love.  This is National Assisted Living Week and there is no greater staff or group of friends than what we have here at Clark Meadows and Ferris Hills.  Today is heart day and as poet Maya Angelou once said, " I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people."  The real heroes are all around us here today.  You all deserve a heart award today.  You are our heroes and we thank you for all you do for us."

Each staff person then received a heart award for 2020 from Margaret or Al; two of our residents at Clark Meadows.  A special afternoon for all!

Gabe!

It was a beautiful evening, August 11th, for FunDay Friday as residents of Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows enjoyed a solo serenade by one of the Elderly Brothers, and Ferris Resident, Gabe Cinquegrana.  The music, all familiar to the 35+ people in attendance, lasted for 1 hour and brought back many memories.

A hotdog lunch and music show on a Thursday afternoon!

One of our residents, Gabe, is in the band!  Gabe and his wife, Deb, moved into Ferris Hill this year and they hit the ground running.  Both Deb and Gabe were already active volunteers in the community working tirelessly at the VA, Kiwanis, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and more.  Here, we are all enjoying the musical performane with lunch as an added treat.
