Celebrating Our PCAs with Sundaes and Gratitude

Today, we had the joy of celebrating the incredible Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) who care for us with such compassion, patience, and grace.  These quiet heroes show up every day with helping hands and open hearts - and today, we had the chance to return the favor in a small but sweet way.

Residents turned the tables and rolled up their sleeves to scoop ice cream and add toppings for our beloved aides.  With laughter, strawberries, and plenty of whipped cream, we served up sundaes as a heartfelt thank-you to those who so faithfully serve us.

it was more than just a treat - it was a moment of connection, appreciation, and community.Thank you, PCAs, for the care you give and the kindness you show.  You make all the difference!

A Journey to New Zealand through the memories shared by Jane Kinyoun!

At Clark Meadows we have been doing a travel series hightlighting a different country each month.  This May, we are exploring Australia and New Zealand.  It seemed like a perfect opportunity to hear from one of our own, Jane Kinyoun.  Jane had a second career that spanned 15 years working as a tour guide throughout Australia and New Zealand.  Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and remarkable adventures.

It took some coaxing, but she agreed to allow us to shine a spotlight on her.  She shared her stories and told us all kinds of interesting tales about life as a tour guide and the wonders of New Zealand.  We tasted kiwi fruit and Marmite on crackers!  The New Zealand wine made the marmite go down a little easier.  It just so happened to be a Constellation wine made in New Zealand (always fun to have a local connection). It was interesting to hear from one of our residents about all the unique aspects of a country far away.  Her pictures were fun, seeing her in her younger years taking care of all the tourists.  She had  interesting tidbits in her presentation about the kiwi bird, the kea bird, the NZ possum, winding roads with beautiful vistas, helicopter rides over the the glaciers, and bungie jumping! When a resident shares their experiences we all are enriched!   Thank you Jane!

Clark Meadows Walk of Fame!

Our Mission today was to get outside!

Clark Meadows Walk of Fame!  Our mission today was to get outside!  The sun is out and the warmer weather has finally arrived.  Let's get out there and search for our very own "Hollywood"...uh-em...I mean "Clark Meadows" Stars!!!  There she is hunkered down drawing a star for each and every one of us!  Notice the person in red hunched over at the end of the walk of fame.  That's Jody, our activities director!  Curiosity got the best of us and residents started to venture down the lane in search of their name.  For a first day out this isn't a bad way to get moving.  The fresh air and the sun on our faces is just what the doctor ordered during this time of safely sheltering-in-place.
