The Men's Club from Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows spent the morning exploring the Sampson Military Museum KristenMeyer / Wednesday, October 8, 2025 0 361 Our Activities Director, Beth Bingham, planned the day, drove the bus, helped us load up and unload, parked, and then joined us as we explored this amazing museum. It was filled with photos, stories, and displays that brought back vivid memories and history from World War II and the Korean War. The significance of this site at the Sampson State Park was powerfully evident throughout. We were in awe of this beautifully curated museum, right here in our own region. Many of the gentlemen - veterans themselves - were especially proud to see this important history so thoughtfully preserved and shared. Read more

KristenMeyer / Wednesday, August 31, 2022 / Categories: Ferris Hills Events, Senior Living Community Events, Ferris Hills Blog A Scenic Excursion to The Finger Lakes Boating Museum Antique Boats, a beautiful day, South end of Keuka Lake, and Ice Cream!! I caught this crew as they returned from an excursion to the Finger Lakes Boating Museum on the South end of Keuka Lake just outside of the village of Hammondsport. As they got off the bus I heard "so interesting" and "we learned so much" and "what a beautiful scenic tour!" Patti Schultz, tour guide and bus driver, said to me, "you have got to go!" The museum is filled with beautiful antique boats and murals. The collection of boats are all tied to the Finger Lakes Region and it's located in the historic Taylor Wine Company's main building. After spending time in the museum, the crew boarded the bus for a drive back by way of Mitchellsville and Prattsburgh (Patti is great at finding the most beautiful routes on our excursions). They stopped in Naples for ice cream/lunch at Lynny Lou's. Then, they continued the scenic drive home going on the High Road on 64, then State Route 21, and home to Ferris Hills. A great day spent in the Finger Lakes Region!
